Chris got a new job!!
After a trying, tiresome few weeks of job searching, Chris got hired at William Blount High School in Maryville to be a U.S. History, Geography, and Government teacher for the juniors and seniors. We found out early July that his position at the alternative school had been cut by Knox County, which sent us into a frenzy of getting his information out to all the surrounding school systems. He got hired the day before teachers were to report back from summer break, and our life was so crazy during that time! Chris had just bought plane tickets to go to OKC to visit family on a Wednesday night, for the flight from Louisville to OKC for that upcoming Saturday. He only bought these tickets after feeling sure nothing else would open up, and he had already been re-hired by Knox at the alternative school. Well, sure enough, Thursday AM William Blount calls and wants to interview him that day! After a huge mess with Nashville/licensing, things got all figured out and he was hired that Friday! We had to cancel the tickets to OKC since he had to be at school that Monday morning (they start a week earlier than Knox). Looking back, Chris (and I) think that him losing his job was the best thing that happened to him, because it forced him to reapply to surrounding counties and look for something else! I kept telling him things would work out and to just trust that God had a place for him and it was not anything we could control....and sure enough He provided and blessed Chris with a wonderful job, wonderful school, and a much better school system to work for!!! I got to decorate his room and bulletin boards with posters and such that I got at the school supply store....and his bulletin boards are, yes, polka dot red/white and blue/white!! =)
