Belly business: 27 weeks

How far along: 27 weeks!
The size of BT: She's approximately 14.5 inches long and weighs close to 2 pounds, or the weight of a head of cauliflower...I find these comparisons odd but it's what the email says! And we know she's close to 2 pounds because 2 weeks ago she was 1 lb, 14 oz so I'd say she's surpassed that weight estimate by now! She also has regular sleep and wake intervals...apparently we are not on the same schedule however! =)
Cravings: I'm not really craving anything, but I'm sad to say that my usual halloween-time intact of candy corn is significantly down this year because I've found that now it makes me sick at my tummy. Boo!
Symptoms: Heartburn has started up this past week and it's something that pre-pregnancy I never had to deal with...I'm not too happy when it's going on! I'm watching what I eat but I've found tomato-based sauces, etc are often the culprit!
Maternity wear: Went and got more pants this past weekend since nothing fits anymore! Luckily much of what's in fashion I can get away with wearing in non-maternity sizes so that's nice...hopefully I can wear those clothes in the future too!
Shake that booty(movement): Brooke continues to be very active! We played a handbell piece this morning at church and little bit was moving while we were playing! Guess she either really liked it (or maybe didn't!?)
Boy or girl?: GIRL... Brooke Elizabeth Taylor!! Chris' middle name is Brooks and mine is Elizabeth, so you get Brooke Elizabeth.

We've been working hard in the guest room conversion to the nursery! Thanks to my mom for painting the trim and closet doors this week too! Sadly, when Chris and I were starting on building the crib, we noticed that each side piece was damaged...ugh! So I've sent off the email to report damage and hopefully will here back very soon as to when they will be delivering me my new pieces. I've also started working in the closet and organizing that! Here's an updated belly pic...excuse my wild hair! =)

Belly business: 26 weeks

How far along: 26 weeks!
The size of BT: Per our weekly email, she is about 14 inches long, or the length of an English hothouse cucumber. What the heck is that you wonder?! Me too...! At our appointment on Friday, Brooke weighed in a 1 lb, 14 oz and is in the 45th percentile for her weight! Yay!
Cravings: I'm still boring and haven't craved really anything...I did want Honey Nut Cheerios, which of course we didn't have but I did buy some this week at the store. Have yet to open them though!
Symptoms: Horrible calf cramp/charley horse...hit in the middle of the night Thursday and was the worst one I've had by far! It makes me hurt to think about it now and I was pretty sore Friday and some Saturday. I know they are a normal symptom of pregnancy, but this one lasted almost 20 or 30 seconds and I was on the verge of screaming (and waking up Chris) when it finally stopped. I pray I have no more of these..!
Maternity wear: Yep, pretty much don't have much of a choice on this anymore. My goal this weekend is to get some more pants I can wear...tried the belly band again and it does not work for me! I can't even zip up my pants anymore and was totally not comfortable in the band and unzipped pants! Made me nervous to wear to work!!
Shake that booty(movement): Alot, especially at night when I try to sleep!
Boy or girl?: GIRL... Brooke Elizabeth Taylor!! Chris' middle name is Brooks and mine is Elizabeth, so you get Brooke Elizabeth.

The rest of our OB appt went great too...on ultrasound they were able to confirm that her lips/nose are perfect and so is her heart. Our next visit is in a month and we won't have an ultrasound then. We were unable to get any good 3D or profile pics as she was hiding her face again and was really low in my tummy which made it hard to see! All we cared about is that she's growing and developing as she should!

I had a surprise shower at work on Thursday from my wonderful co-workers! It was so fun and was for me, another NP due this week and our nurse supervisor! So much fun and got some good stuff for Miss B too! I'll post some pics when I get them uploaded and edited! But it was so sweet and fun! =)

Belly business: 25 weeks

How far along: 25 weeks! It seems like since 20 weeks, time is starting to go quickly!
The size of BT: The weekly email says she should weigh about 1.5 pounds, or the weight of an average rutabega. Can't say i've even seen or held one of those things, but that what she's the weight of! In developmental news, she's starting to add fat to her body and grow more hair. If she's anything like her momma was, she'll have a nice full, thick head of hair! We'll have to wait and see though!
Cravings: Nothing really...although I'm planning burgers on our menu for next week! I think my body is telling me it needs extra protein right now!
Symptoms: My right hip has been hurting pretty bad during and after running on Saturdays, even though I've limited my mileage to just 6 miles. The occasional lower back pain has started up as well as round ligament pain in my lower abdominal area...which just means things are starting to stretch out (including my belly bump!)
Maternity wear: So I bought the maternity jeans but have yet to wear them! Still trying to squeeze into my pre-pregnancy pants a few more times! I did buy a belly band too, but haven't used it either =)

We go next week for our next OB appointment and a chance to see Miss Brooke on ultrasound! Can't wait! In other news, Chris is recovering nicely from surgery and has started therapy. He's down to one crutch and is feeling better, yay!

Here's a belly pic and a few from my "photo shoot" this weekend with my new camera I finally got! I made a bracelet with Brooke's name on it to wear once she's born, so I used that as a prop with my cross from Laura and willow figurine from Mom! I now realize that you can't see my belly much between the light background and my sweater, but it's there for sure!

Belly business: 24 weeks

How far along: 24 weeks...this is a little crazy to me in that I've seen 24 weekers in my Dad's NICU so I know have an actual image in my head of how big (well still small at this point!) Miss Brooke really is!
The size of BT: Brooke is about 12 inches long, or the length of a cob of corn. She should weigh a little over 1 pound as well. This week in her development, her taste buds are starting to form and her lungs are continuing to develop and produce surfactant which will help her breath when she is born.
Cravings: Nothing...just my regular healthy diet =)
Symptoms: Again, not much to report here. Other than still not sleeping great but I'm not sure that's from the pregnancy...there's been a few things over the past week or two I've been anxious over! I do keep getting this mid-night calf cramps too...again have no clue if it's pregnancy related but they've been for about a month now and can really really hurt (and wake me up!)
Maternity wear: Same as last week...a few cute tops I've gotten can be maternity but have not bought anything offically "maternity".
Shake that booty(movement): Still all the time! I think the other day she was sticking her butt out on my right side...kinda weird to see!

Not much exciting has happened this week, other than I'm ready to sell the guest room furniture so that we can start working on the nursery! Chris' knee surgery went well and I only had to sleep in the guest room for one night! With that behind us, I can now sell the furniture and get to cleaning, painting, getting the furniture and decorating! Our next OB appt is in a little less than two weeks, and I can't wait to see her little face again! I also ordered the diaper bag I think I want, so I'm excited for it to be delivered tomorrow! =)

Belly business: 23 weeks

How far along: 23 weeks
The size of BT: Brooke is roughly 11 inches long and weighs about a pound...in produce terms she's about the weight of a "heavy mango." Her sense of movement is fairly developed now, so my weekly email said she can feel when I dance! She's also able to hear better and can most likely hear Willie bark along with our voices =)
Cravings: Again, nothing really. I did want a Frosty Friday night while we were in the DFW airport, but that could have been just because I was hungry! But it did hit the spot!
Symptoms: Feeling pretty good, can't complain!
Maternity wear: Still able to wear my dresses and pants/jeans and at times have to use the rubber-band trick. As of now I still refuse to even look at maternity pants or jeans!!!
Shake that booty(movement): This girl can move! Especially at night when I'm laying down ready to catch some Zzzz's!

This past weekend we flew out to OKC for a quick visit with the Taylor family and Brooke's first shower on Sunday. We had a great time seeing Oklahoma family and friends, not to mention Brooke got alot of cute outfits and some bath gear! I can't believe I'm already 23 weeks...moving right along! We start our childbirth classes in about a month...ah! On another note, Chris had his knee surgery/scope on Friday morning, so I'm praying that all goes well and it fixes the problem/pain he's been having for too long!!!
